Just over the weekend, it was my nephew's 3rd birthday party, and my sister-in-law had asked me to make a cake for him, and of course I said YES!!Although I had no training what so ever in cake decorating (I learned what I know through the internet), I wanted to put my cake decorating to the test.
The turn out of the cake wasn't bad at all, but I knew I didn't a lot of things wrong. I'm saying this because, by the time I delivered it to my inlaws, the cake was all squished, and some of the fondant was falling off.
Well it definitely is about Trial and error. Next time I know to use cake boards under each tier, and to use dowels for support.
My next cake project will be coming up in a few week, and I'm hoping it will be better than the last.
